Cavaliers start season with a win

After losing the toss and being invited to bowl. Connor Chilcott picked up a couple of early wickets thanks to catches from Dan Trick and Jesse Mooney. Tom Walsh produced a fine opening spell but was unable to pick up a deserved wicket.Mooney and Trick than took over the bowling duties with Mooney picking up two more wickets. Spinners Scott Thomas and Jonathan Lewis Oliver then turned the screw ripping out the Saints middle order taking 5 wickets between them. With a run out in the middle the Cavaliers were set 99 for victory.

Openers Rufus Williams Pritchard and Dan Parsons made good progress against some fine opening bowling but both were dismissed in quick succession, leaving the Cavaliers in some trouble at 30-2. Thomas and skipper Axon than came together and Thomas immediately showed his class with a succession of boundaries. Axon than got in on the act as the Cavaliers began to make serene progress towards their target reaching it within 30 overs
