The Crusaders travelled to in form Evercreech where skipper Ponte lost the toss (will he ever win one !!!!) and Evercreech batted. Throughout the innings they scored heavily with most bowlers taking punishment. The pick of the bowlers for the Crusaders was Richard Hoddinott with 4-28. Phil Batstone 2-39, John Ponte 2-52 and Matt Kingdom 2-71 all plugged away and deserved there wickets.
In reply the Crusaders batted steadily but were always behind the run rate despite several lusty 6's being struck including one in to the next door factory from Hoddinott and a first ever 6 from young George Loker, and wickets fell regularly. We were treated to the unusual site of skipper Ponte batting at 11 with a runner, 52 year old Bruce Crosland, remarkably the last wicket stand didn't end in a run out !!!!!
A good game but the Crusaders finally beaten by 82 runs.
Man of the match - Richard Hoddinott
