Seb and Ollie got the Deane off to a good start against the quicker Ashbrittle bowlers putting on 24 as a pair.
Tommy and George came in next and found it difficult with very little pace on the ball and low bounce. However, three consecutive 4's behind square leg from George took the partnership to 23 without loss.
Rupert and Will came in at 5 and 6; they very quickly took the game away from Ashbrittle with a quick fire 44 run partnership.
The final pairing of Finley and Isaac struggled with the slow and low deliveries, but managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over for 23 off the last 4 overs.
Rupert lead the team out for the Ashbrittle innings and his bowlers quickly got stuck into the top order with George and Seb both picking up an early wicket. This set Ashbrittle back behind the run rate and they never recovered. Finley took the next wicket before George was responsible for a sharp run out. The Ashbrittle 5 and 6 batsmen stopped the fall of wickets, but had become very defensive to do so.
Rupert and Tommy wrapped up any chance Ashbrittle had of challenging the Deane score taking another pair of wickets, before George effected yet another Run Out.
A good start to the season for the U11As who will be looking to use the rest of their strong squad as they rotate the team for their next fixture.
