Taunton Deane is proud of its historic links with Somerset Stragglers Cricket Club, a long-established Nomadic cricket club playing at some of the most picturesque grounds across the Westcountry.

Many Somerset and England players have represented Stragglers over the years including, Jack White, Harold Gimblett, Jeremy Lloyds, Peter Roebuck, Vic Marks and Jack Leach among others. 2025 was the Club's 125th year and the fixture list still includes the MCC as well as the Free Foresters and other nomadic teams.

The Club now has a dedicated display in the Somerset Cricket Museum which includes recent updates to celebrate its 125 anniversary including the formation of the Women's side in 2023.
