Baker Cup Final

The first XI were in action on Tuesday evening against local rivals Taunton St Andrews in the final of the Baker Cup held at The Cooper Associates County Ground.
In perfect conditions on a hot sunny evening, St Andrews batted first but were limited to 117 all out. Liam Redrup the pick of the bowlers with 4-28 from his 5 overs. Harry Thomas, Tom Walsh and Rob Pryke chipping in with two wickets apiece. Special mention to Shohel Rana, who covered big ground to take an incredible one handed catch on the run.
The Deane response started well and never stopped. Openers Sam Loud and Harry Smith set the foundations of the innings before both were bowled for 36 and 26 respectively. Rob Woodman (28 not out) and Harry Thomas (18 not out) continued what the openers had started and marshalled the boys home to their target of 118 with 11 balls to go.
Taunton Deane won by 8 wickets.
