Dennis William Pywell: 15th September 1930 – 18th March 2022

The Club is sad to report the passing of Life Member Dennis Pywell at the age of 92.

Dennis was a part of the new Club Committee after the Club reformed in 1955 and his name can be seen across many of the early documents of the Club after its new beginnings.

Dennis played an active part in the rebirth of the Club and was a member of the new Club Committee for over 30 years, including over 20 years as Treasurer.

However, Dennis is mainly remembered for overseeing the construction of the clubhouse, spending numerous hours liaising with planners, council officers and club members to organise and manage the development of the clubhouse as we know it today.

Outside of cricket, Dennis was a Chartered Surveyor and practised under the name of Stilings Chartered Surveyors from offices in Bridge Street where the business remains today under the watchful eye of Dennis's son, Tim Pywell.

The Club wishes to express its sincere condolences to Dennis's family and acknowledge his role in forming the Club and clubhouse we know and enjoy today.
