The Cavaliers kept up their winning streak with a fine victory over local rivals Taunton St Andrews in a game played in great spirit throughout. After winning the toss captain Axon surprisingly inserted the Saints on a typical Blagdon batting pitch which offered little to the bowlers. Openers Woodland and Weetch started well for St Andrews and were quick to punish any width on offer from bowlers Giles and Mellor. Having progressed to a fifty partnership Woodland surprisingly drove Ben Redwood to cover where Pat Thomas took a fine catch. Redwood then dismissed Weetch playing on for 28. Two more quick wickets fell to Redwood leaving St Andrews in a spot of bother at 100 for 4. Wyatt and Knott then set about rebuilding aided by some wayward bowling until John House got the breakthrough in his second spell having Knott caught by Stephenson. Wyatt soon departed for 40 again dismissed by House. Ben Redwood returned to the attack taking his first ever five wicket haul as St Andrews got up to a respectable total of 190 off their allotted overs. Ben redwood finishing with impressive figures of 6 for 23 off 10 overs.
A new opening partnership of Dave Stephenson and Ed Mellor started steadily as opening bowlers Green and Harnett posed problems with the new ball. Mellor grew in confidence and began to play his shots looking particularly fluent through the point region. Mellor brought up his fifty with a straight six off Baldock but was soon to perish top edging a pull. With Stephenson happy to play the supporting role Charlie Axon with 33 and Ryan Marsh 22 helped to push the score near to the target and it was left to Pat Thomas to hit the winning runs with an edge through the vacant cordon for 4.
