Taunton Deane Cavaliers 85AO Wedmore 132 AO
The Cavalier’s unbeaten run was ended by Wedmore after a dismal performance with the bat. After losing the toss the Cavaliers found themselves in the field with Steve Giles and Matt Kingdom both pick up an early wicket each. Youngster Harrison Hamley had an impressive spell picking up another wicket to leave the visitors reeling. A good partnership between Whittaker and Boley saw the visitors up to 93 before Graham Johnson bagged a couple of wickets. A fine bit of fielding from Tom Burgess yielded a run out and Asif Khan bagged 3 wickets to clean up the tail and restrict Wedmore to a very gettable 132.
The Cavaliers got off to the worst possible start losing 3 wickets before the tea interval. Sensible batting from Charles Axon and Barry Jones 25 saw the score up to 59 before Axon was out for 22 after picking up a hamstring injury. Another collapse followed with Jones dismissed for 25. Only youngsters Billy Sully and Harrison Hamley showed any resistance as the Cavaliers were dismissed for a paltry 85.
