The Cavaliers started their season with a fine win against Fitzhead. With a youthful side skipper Axon won the toss and invited the home team to bat. The Cavaliers made an immediate impact taking two quick wickets through run outs via fine work from Jonathan Lewis Oliver and Harry Phillips. On a pitch with variable bounce opening bowlers Connor Chillcott and Harrison Hamley both bowled probing opening spells picking up two wickets apiece and leaving the hosts reeling at 26/6. Fitzhead recovered with Smith and Morrish putting on over 100 for the 7th wicket until Lewis Oliver came on to dismantle the tail picking up 3 wickets. Ollie Salt impressed with 8 overs for 28 picking up a wicket with the last ball of his spell.
The Cavaliers soon found them selves in trouble losing both Graham and Max Johnson early on. Dan Parsons and Charlie Axon steadied the ship putting on over 50 for the third wicket until Axon picked out deep mid on for 26. Parsons soon followed for 32. Lewis Oliver and Martin Salt then had a partnership of 50 until Salt picked deep square leg, despite a mini collapse Lewis Oliver saw the Cavaliers home with an unbeaten 35.
