We played our first away game at Wellington in a 10 a side 20 over fixture.
With Ben Squire incorrectly calling at the toss the Deane were asked to bat.
Deane debuts tonight for Harry Quirk and William Taylor
On a wicket keeping a little low and and with an outfield in need of a trim runs were going to be at a premium.
Despite losing some early wicket the various Deane pairings worked hard throughout managing to complete the innings on probably a below par 251. We lost 7 wickets in the process probably a couple more than we should of done.
In reply the Deane knew they had to perform at their best with the ball and in the field to defend 251.
With wickets in Wellington 2nd, 3rd and 4th overs Wellington were soon well behind the rate and from their never recovered despite a good last wicket partnership to finish on 241.
Wickets taken by Ben, Josh, George, Theo, Will and Elliot
Well done all a great defence of a slightly below par score.
Also well Done by Harry and Will on debut tonight.
Next week see then Deane in Cup action away to Huntspill. This will be a combination of both Under 11 teams
