Under 11 CUP

The under 11's started their cup campaign fielding a combined A and B team.

Their opponents WSCA ( Minehead) batted first.

A steady bowling performance restricted WSCA to just a score of 223. Wickets taken by Charlie Ball, Ben Squire, Rupert Bavistock (2) and Tom Newman. Alex Chaffey and Will Cooper also bowled well but with no wicket taking success today.

In reply Josh and Will opened the batting and despite Josh being bowled they progressed the score well to 214 after their 4 overs.
Next up were Tom and Charlie. With Tom in particular batting well, (5 x 4's in a row) they as good as batted WSCA out of the game putting on a partnership of 31 and leaving the score on 247.
From this point sensible batting was required to ensure victory. Up stepped Jacob and Ben who scored 29 runs with Jacob hitting a 6 and 3 fours. The score now is 276.
Final pairing of Alex and Rupert batted well to close out the Deane innings on 298 and ensured a comprehensive victory.

I thought the running between the wickets was particularly impressive this evening.
An area of improvement was maybe a few less wides would of been nice.

Overall a very professional performance from all the boys well done
